Character Forge

A character in Novarrium is a set of enforced facts, not a note card. Eye color, scars, personality, voice -- the traits you set are given to the writer, and the ones you lock are checked in every later chapter, so chapter forty describes the same person as chapter one. The full list is in What goes into your story.

What it is for

Same traits, same face

Every sketch is a working reference in the same ink style as your world map -- composed from the traits you set, not generated by an image model that invents a new face on every call. These three are drawn from their trait lists below; redraw them at chapter one or chapter forty and the face never changes.

Idris, drawn in the ink style: curly black hair, tan skin, amber eyes, ranger leathers

Mirren, drawn in the anime style: long silver hair, pale skin, violet eyes, glasses, flight suit

Watch: give every character a look

Give every character a look (27 s)
Transcript

Open a character's Appearance Studio and pick their look.

Every pick redraws them on the spot: hair, eyes, outfit and extras.

Choose the art style you like: ink, anime, storybook or neon.

Each pick is saved to your story, so every chapter describes them the same way.

Characters change; canon remembers

When you change a trait, Novarrium asks one question: did it change in the story, or was the record wrong? A story change -- the dye job at chapter ten, the scar from the duel at chapter five -- is recorded on your timeline, and generation uses the right value on both sides of that chapter. Regenerate chapter three and the hair is still black; write chapter eleven and it is silver. A correction simply fixes the record everywhere.

Watch: looks over time

Looks change with your story (22 s)
Transcript

Characters change as your story goes on.

Drag to any chapter to see them as they were then.

Della dyes her hair silver in chapter ten, so earlier chapters keep it black.

Every chapter is written with the look it should have.

How it reaches the book

Traits marked as must-appear are verified in the generated prose by a deterministic scan plus a semantic check; physical traits are guarded against drift between chapters; personality steers voice checks. If the prose contradicts your character, the chapter is repaired or regenerated before you ever see it.
